my older Bantam Rooster (5 yrs old) has recently been terrorized by our 10 month old Roo. It began 2 weeks when we had a Hawk attack, the younger rooster attacked & chased away the Hawk, since then has become very aggressive and is attacking the old fella daily. He has been hidng off to front of property, not eatng much and becomming rather lethargic. He has never been ill and always been very gentle bird. I noticed yesterday his poo was bright green? And today he refused to come out of the coop?/ He has no other signs of illness, just frightened of the newer much larger rooster.
They have all been vaccinated for Marecks as well as coccidia. ANy suggestions? ?
I have him in a cathouse at the moment tht I bought for our large outdoor Tomcat. He' quite cozy in there. Will clean chicken coop & put in fresh straw to be safe.

Welcome to BYC. The green poop is usually from not eating enough food. It is natural for one to challenge the older one, and take over. A lot depends on whether the former head of the flock accepts his new role or not. I had one mellow rooster who grew up in the flock with the head rooster, and he would maybe once a year try to challenge, but then back off and resume his subordinate role. So I would probably crate the older rooster inside the coop (with his own food and water) with the rest for a few days, so that he gets enough to eat and drink. I would not remove him from the flock until you decide how to handle the 2 roosters, whether to see if they can work out the problem, or separarte them permanently. Some rotate roosters within flocks, or rehome extra roosters.

Yess, I'm quite familiar with rotating roos, but this old guys not cooperating. I have him in the little house for now atop the wood pyle, his girls come & go, he can see them . I figured it was no doubt a vitamin deficiency but wanted to double check. I just gave him a cpl mls of Nutri Drench and he drank a little water. Still not eating. He loves peanuts so I purchased penut /mealworm treat at Tractor Supply. Maybe that'll entice him.
Thankx for your input. I am considering giving him to a neighbor.
