Hello! I have a cream leg bar hen that isn’t doing so great. It’s been three days of somewhat lethargic behavior. She’s eating some and drinking some but hasn’t laid an egg. I originally thought she was egg bound. She has an history of laying shell less eggs on occasion and I started calcium citrate with D3 and gave her a couple of warm baths but she never ended up laying an egg. I checked her crop and I don’t think there is an issue there? She’s about a year old.

I just came out to check on her and noticed this bright green poop.

I’m a first time chicken owner and not really sure what else to try or what else to google.

Attached is a few images of her as well as the poop.

Thank you!

Can you take a sample of her poop to your vet for a fecal float?
I’m going to do that today. Still no change in her. She did drink a lot of water this morning. Not eating too much. And when I went to feel her crop when I first got up it felt a little hard and she is making a tiny gurgling noise when she drinks. But her tail feathers are still down and no egg.

Let me know what the vet says.

If her crop is not emptying, then I'd address that symptom according to this article.

Hello! I'm sorry for your hen. The green poop might be her eating grass (which is hard to digest so comes out green). The eggs with no shells is normal for a young hen, sometimes it takes longer for a chicken to grow before producing good eggs. Another thing could be she's stressed. Does she free range? Sometimes non free range hens can be stressed. Also is she the smallest in the coop? Because that can make everyone else peck at her unless you don't have any other chickens and it's just her. If that's the case she might need to socialize. Good job with the calcium idea keep that up. Give her lots of berries and vegetables and make sure she stays hydrated. I hope this helps and I'm sorry about your hen<3

My hen had very similar symptoms and it turned out to be lead poisoning. Same color green poop, crop not emptying / regurgitation, and lethargy. My vet recommended the test and I was shocked. We had removed our old siding and the paint chips were accessible to her. She was eating the paint chips. This might be helpful to know in case your other hens might have access to lead in some form - paint, fishing sinkers, ammunition, etc. In our case, we have been able to treat, but it has been a long road of on and off injections. We can never eat her eggs because the lead will forever reside in her body.
