Bright lights in the sky!!!

Looks a little like my dumdum chicken. She(dumdum)has a skulldeformity with brain coming through only covered by sking and feathers. She has the same weird half comb. Your chick has defin. a skull deformity. IMO looks like either the front halfs of the skull have fused and now its is grow ing sideways in steadof like it should, or he has a case of hydrocephalus. Does he also have a funny walk, unsteady or does he have problems perching? There is no need to cull it unless it stops eating or is in pain. I gave dumdum a day old to keep company because she got picked on, now she is a happy big sis.

also i noticed this is the third partridge colored chick that does have a skull deformity other than a crossed beak? Is there something in this coloration that causes problems?
Please everybody that has a skull deformed chick drop me a note withy whats wrong maybe a pic would be nice . my email is my username @yahoo.com i wnt to see if some colors are more prone than others.

I have a silkie (part partridge) that has a beak problem, it's not the same as the crossbeaks I've seen though, this one goes of to the side on both top and bottom the same direction, so he can eat fine...just looks starnge, and it's eye is affected on the side that the beak goes off to the side. I'll try and get a pic for ya'll. Seems healthy otherwise though, so I haven't culled it yet

Cross beak is caused by a deformed skull. Where the jaw meets that skull is usually not right. I have one that is going on 3 months and she is doing ok, and her's is really bad. Her bottom beak is sticking out to the side, like a little tusk. She eats and drinks fine, and even chases the others away from the feeder. Give him a chance and he will probably be ok.
