Bright red skin

I agree with Ella, we had the same thing hapen with our Austrarlorp (sp?). Because we had a small flock (5 hens/1 roo) they were being mounted all the time and lost the feathers on their rumps. Her bare skin seemed to be red a lot (exposed to the elements, maybe). However, she was also showing signs of mites. I did a MAJOR cleansing of the coop and all the chickens (we now have 11), dusted etc. Her feathers are finally growing back (and the roo is gone...).
