    Hi all,

Got some chicks from TSC today and brought them to my brooder in my basement. I have a very friendly broody hen and I'd love to have her sit on them but have no experience with bringing chickens inside! Any ideas or advice?

    Thanks!

Has she hatched chicks or have you ever tried giving her chicks before? Have you ever tried to move her to someplace else, some broodys don't mind being moved, others will quit sitting. I normally try to move them before I give them chicks so I know she will keep sitting, but if you can bring her in with her nest box, you could put her and the nest box in a dog crate / cage whatever you tend to keep them in the basement, if she keeps sitting for a day I would give her a chick or two at night and see what she does, if she is fine give her the rest of the chicks. If your brooder is big enough to hold her and the chicks then you could put the nest box and her and the chicks in it.
