Bringing a new chicken in

My friend who has 2 chickens said one of them died because of heatstroke and is extremely lonely now so she wants to give it to us. If we do take it we would have to separate her from my own flock for awhile so my question is will she die from being too lonely and depressed while we make sure she isn't sick with anything?

As long as she isn't sick she should be ok. Defintately quarantine her though, just in case she has something. She will be lonely at first, but just give her lots of attention and treats.

No she won't die from loneliness. Good job on the quarantining. It is easy to forget about - but hard when you pay the price for skipping a step.
