Bringing chickens indoors during heat wave

Be VERY careful about AC or many fans in the coop, because the dust is a huge problem out there. Screening it effectively will also impact it's function, and that's not good either.
Adding shade to the coop, insulating the roof, and a good tree/ shrub border for the birds outside will make a big difference for them, maybe not in 110F, but definitely when it's 95F and humid, like it's been here.

Thank you Mary; I agree that dust could really be dangerous, but every summer in south IN is noticibly hotter than before. It is so bad you dont even want to go outside at all. And this heat is deadly because we also have high humidity meaning the conditions will easily negate any creature’s ability to stay cool enough to be alright. The brutal summer didnt ‘ease’ in….one day it was springlike and then the next day we have a deadly heat wave that has lasted literally for months with temps included of over 100 degrees F. I really had to bring them inside and I would give anything to be cold for awhile…
