Bringing ducklings outside

I was wondering at what age can ducklings go outside to play and for how long? Also do you let them free roam or put them in a pen? As of right now in West Virginia it’s been chilly so we have been letting them free roam in the house.

It all depends on how much they've feathered out and what the outdoor temps are. I wouldn't let them wander but keep them contained at first, especially if you have other ducks or chickens.
