I don't know about a goat or other livestock, but I think it's great to take a dog to Petsmart. When my dog was a pup we took her their to socialize her. Althought she isn't really big on meeting new dogs, especially bouncing puppies, she does love to meet new people. This is a great bonus because Spook has become a Service Dog and socialization skills are mandatory. She has learned to just lay there an watch why the paramedics do their thing.

Spook would rather hang out with the kitties than the dogs, lol

I have taken a couple of my dogs in petsmart... they love it...I don't do it often because I am usually in town doing other errands... but when I take my maltese he gets excited cause he knows he is gonna get a new toy and get alot of attention.....

I took my goat in with both of my dogs (lab and boxer) for his picture with santa this last x-mas. He did fine. There were a few potty breaks but in general it went well. He has been raised with the dogs so there was no problem there. He loves people so that went great. I bought him little reindeer antlers. We had so many people come and ask about him. People were asking to take his picture. He had kids feeding him dog treats lol. It went fine.

Billy is a 75-80lb alpine wether

No one lost control of their dogs while I had Billy in there. And Billy does better on a leash that alot of dogs I've seen. Billy was browsing everywhere. Trying to pick up stuff and sniffing everyone. Santa was even walking him around for a while. Not one issue. I say if you feel comfortable with your goats manners and personality then go for it.

when i had my goats, i would take them all sorts of places..the thing is, if they saw something they wanted to eat, which in their case was dead leaves..they would freak! trying to get away from me, baahing at me..it was embarrassing! other than that, they walked on their leashes just fine and everyone liked them.
the dog thing might be an issue..i know we have a dog on our block, and if they even thought he was outside, it scared them pretty bad.
if i were you i would slap a diaper on it and let it ride in the cart!
