You just as well forget the part about only keeping 4. Silkies are sweet, gentle little things, that don't need as much room as regular chickens, as they aren't very active. AND, since they go broody so easily and often, if you are thinking 4 is enough for an egg supply, you may be wrong. Also, their eggs are smaller, like bantam eggs, and usually you will need to use 2 of them to equal a large hen egg. I say what the heck--keep 'em all.
