Brinsea Eco 20 Temp Variation

good evening:

just curious if anyone else has an eco 20 from brinsea, and if they've noticed air pockets with different temperatures inside the incubator. if i put my spot on therm. on top of the eggs, it read 100.1. however, if i lower toward the bottom of the egg, it will go all the way down to 98.2.

the incubator has a fan.

is this typical? unusual? anyone have experience?

For nearly all incubators the tempature is different based on the height, thats why they same to lay the thermometer on top of the eggs so that everyone is getting the same basic reading.
