Sorry if this has been addressed prior, I couldn't find the answer.

This is my first hatch and I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof.

My Brinsea incubator instructs me to add their disinfectant to the water in the reservoir of my incubator.

Problem: No one carries this around me and my eggs will get here before I can order some on-line.

Question: Is this really necessary and if so is there an alternitive?

Thanks for the help!

i have had 2 brinsea eco 20's for 2 years and still haven't used the disinfectant.
i put tap water in and wash it all in fairy liquid and antibacterial floor wipes before i reset it.
i get 80- 90% hatch rate every time
