Ive got a brinsea octagon advance 20 ext humidity pump, so the lid has a fault and brinsea are sending a new lid. First has anyone had the same problem, and instead of a lid replace got a full unit replacement?

My idea, when the new lid comes i could make a box (the yellow bit) anyone done this, and if you have have you expanded your box size? more egg capacity?

Thoughts and ideas please? Thanks

I have the same incubator and have never had a problem with it. I think what you are saying is putting the incubator lid on a box to make room for more eggs? I don't think this would work as the incubator and its design are made to be a sealed unit. If it's not sealed and just on a box the heating element would be constantly on trying to maintain temperature, therefore runnng the risk of burning it out and compromising your warranty. Also I think you would have the same issues with the humidity pump working on overdrive trying to maintain humidity. The design is also as it is to spread the heat and air evenly through the whole unit over the eggs, changing this could cause hot and cold spots with just a box therefore causing uneven development in your eggs.

There is the octagon 40 or ova easy range for more egg capacity. I've also found if you don't use the foam in the dividers you can get more eggs in.

looking at the Octogan 40 its simply the lid and container that are longer the electronics etc look similar if not the same. With regards the faulty unit - Well its an O ring issue you see...
