I have my brinsea mini advanced plugged in. On day one. However I am confused about the egg turning angle. What is the setting used for chicken eggs. They are not large eggs, just standard backyard chicken eggs. I have it set on a 6. Is that right?

I have these directions. And that's why I set it on 6. All of this is new to me. Never done this or seen anyone do this before. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to put the egg on these circles to compair sizes. I didn't do that, as I forgot cause I was so excited to get them going. And I didn't want to open it after putting them in there. Waiting the 24 hours to let the air sacs set about killed me. Crazy that 10 days is nothing when your not waiting for your hopes and dreams to come true! Lol
Didn't know that there was a hatch along for Easter till yesterday. Oh well I probably couldn't have waited till Saturday to get them going anyways!

I have 5 of these incubators and also never knew what angle to use, I've used them 3 years now and set it at 10--regular chicken eggs. Should I lower it to 6? I get great hatches so IDK.

I think as long as they are turning it really doesn't make that much difference (the size thing is the diameter of the egg), when I used them I usually just set them at 6 or 8, and just watched that they were turning via mark on eggs ... the turning motor just runs for X amount of time depending on what you have it set at, higher numbers longer since big eggs take longer to turn... so if you have it set higher than your egg size, they are just going through more of a turn than they need... don't know if the extra handling would really hurt them.

I hope someone will help us :) I didn't mark the eggs so I have no idea how far they are turning. Making mental notes for next time!!!!
How often do you set your to turn. I chose 120 minutes. Is that okay?

Thanks, I'll lower it.

I also chose 120 minutes--think it's fine.

Do you keep the water reservoir full. Mine went down in 24 hours. Of course only half, but does it need to stay topped off?
