Brinsea mini advance- my first time using this bator. *update* All 6 successfully hatched!

Hi everybody, good luck....

Off grid it sounds like all your difficulties are solved...but you could possibly call Brinsea too if you had some questions..... I'm subscribing, so post back when they hatch! ;O)

I probably didn't "press and hold" but just "pressed" or something.

I had a Gold Laced Wyandotte roo. I collected eggs from my Rose Bomb Brown Leghorns, Dominiques, and Partridge Rocks. One of the Dom eggs wasn't fertile so I had to toss it. I had two of everything, plus a brown egg I am not sure who laid it. These will be interesting looking chicks. I will certainly post pictures of whoever makes it.

Well, each egg still has swimming aliens in it.

If I set on a Monday, hatch day is a monday, correct? In other words, I schedule lockdown like hatch is supposed to be a Monday? Because of my no day in the display in the beginning, I'm unsure about number of days left til hatch. I want to make sure the turner shuts off and fill the little water reservoir on the correct day. I know the hatch can stagger a little, I just was wondering.

I always lock down a tad early if IM not shure I dont think it will hurt the eggs. Im very excited to read all your posts about your eggs cant wait to hear about the chicks. Can you post pictures of them hatching when its time?

I post WAY too many pictures of chickens. But these are my first at-home hatch, the first fertile eggs from MY chickens, AND barnyard cross experiments. I don't think I couldn't not take pics. I'll probably post pics of pipping, zipping, and hatching... like a nervous first-time daddy in the hospital.

Good luck with your hatch!

I've found that time of day matters, as well as day. For example, this past hatch, I set at 4pm on a tuesday. I had pips in all three eggs on Tuesday morning. One chick hatched at 5:30pm Tuesday (so right about that 21 day mark), one hatch in the middle of the night (so about 6 hours into day 21) and then the last hatched later on Wednesday (an hour or two into day 22).

Just entered lock down.

Air cell sizes are different for all the eggs. Is that due to different thicknesses of shells or porosity of each shell?
