Ok I wonder if you can help with this one- by the way did you ever register for the Brinsea newsletter? I still have not had anything . I am busy trying to clean the dome and it says "unscrew the four screws retaining the fan cover I, of course need idiot instructions. If I hold it up in the air and look into it there are 4 screws but they are so tighty and deeply inset I am wondering if I push harder I may snap something did you find it very tight? Everything else seems to wash well just this section I cant seem to get off. I could ask Brinsea about these things but its always better to find out from someone who has actually used one.

You know, I have never attempted to take off the skirt there or the fan base either. I too found the screws unbelievably hard to budge and also did not want to crack the case so I used canned air to blow the bits of feather out (there was not much thankfully). I wiped it with the disinfectant as best I could using Qtips and a rag and left it to dry in the sun. I suppose in a few more hatches I am going to have to attempt it though. Maybe someone who has been able to take the screws out will pop in to let us know what to watch for.

OK I will only be able to tell next time I try a batch probably Feb.

Then I will know -I had to get it off- the whole plastic section under the fan can be cleaned and soaked and there were feathers stuck in the fan. I worked so carefully on it and with the right size star screwdriver they did come off.I think if i did another batch straight away I wouldnt have but I cannot store it like that. There was a horrible click of plastic on the first part -as if it was sealed -but after that it came out no problen. That click was on each screw- gees I hope I didn't break anything.The instructions did say I should do it but just didnt sound right.- you know what an " ono second" is? The thing you say just when it has happened. I think I am more worried about spending another 21 days of my life waiting and watching just to have them not hatch because of bacteria or something I did. I also pulled off the tubes from my water pump and found one of the tiny holes was more blocked than the other . That was probably why I had the flood - We use our dam water which is good quality drinking water and very pure to look at but I think it had a bit of sediment stuck there. Next time I will used bottled purified water.If you ever decide to take if off just remember to not put pressure on the digital section when its upside down - I worked with it on my lap and then don't turn the whole thing back because that is when the fan can fall out.Once the scews are out the plastic section comes out easily. When everything was clean I ran it dry without the water for 24hours which helped to remove the condensation in the handle section. I didn't want to risk anything else at this stage but there is a tiny back stopper on the top of the handle- maybe that should have come off- Well if not- keep me in mind next year when you need spares - going cheap

I borrowed my friend's Brinsea mini advance for my first hatch. It worked like a dream. I did nothing but keep the water leval correct. There were actually two incubators. On hatch day the second one's humidity level dropped for some reason and the last two chicks had a hard time as their shells dryed arounf them. I broke the rules and helped out these last two chicks. I do not think they would have survived. They are now good layers in my flock. I am looking to purchase my own Brinsea soon!

Hi, where did you order your Mini Brinsea incubator from?? Seeing that I am also from SA I honestly sukkel to get someone to supply the incubator. Wantitall is selling them know but for just about double the prize. Pls assist

Before you order it i would google search for keywords to get discounts... When i ordered mine the word FRESH got me 10% off from brinsea.com.. from fresh eggs daily.. i dont know if that one would still work, but it may
