Brinsea mini eco or mini advanced

I have the brinsea advanced. I have loved it because it is so simple. I put the eggs in there, set it, and then add water a couple times a week. When it's time for lockdown, I take out the turner, and put in some felt for a good hatching surface.

Cons: only can hatch 7 eggs at a time. kind of spendy

pros: only can hatch 7 eggs at a time. very simple, almost idiot proof.

A "bad" hatch in my brinsea is 5/7. If I get eggs from my own yard, not shipped, not very young cockerel fertilizing, I usually get 6/7 or 7/7.

Oh wow that is awesome, with my hens i usually get 7-15 and the last couple of times i got 2-11 and 3-15 and all the eggs are from my yard and they were all fertile...

I am thinking of getting the advance so i dont have the hassle of turning them, but then again the eco holds more eggs and i feel i have a special connection to the eggs. Thanks for the advice!

With the advance, you can take out the turner and it will be just like the Eco....so you can go with 7 eggs and do auto mode, or if you have more eggs or want to hand turn just take the tray out. That's what I've done. I think I fit 12 bantam eggs in it this last time. Now I'n using the auto with 7 eggs. Works great both ways.

Has anyone had issues with it turning large eggs? I just hatched 6 Americana eggs ( med size eggs) but my one RedStar/ Americana egg looks to not hatch. I am not sure that egg turned like it should and have found the really large hen eggs not turning at all

i am a bit late since you allready made your choice but i would pick the mini eco 10 egg incubator becouse it holds 10 eggs possible 11 if you exirement i like turning the eggs becouse it gives me something to do and it simulats the hen getting off the nest to eat and drink i got 80% hatch with it last time. i just add water a couple of times a day

Yeah, that is what i was thinking to, i havent ordered yet because i spent the money that i had saved up for that on something else so it is not to late, i am just worried that i might forget to turn the eggs...
Anyway, i have a whole year in frontt of me to decide...
