Brinsea Mini water well LOST and chicks are pipping! what do I do?

I JUST saw that my water well cover is GONE! I can't find it anywhere and I have chicks pipping!! What do I do? I do not want any to drown!! Any ideas??

I put a little duct tape X over it? Hoping it will do? What do you think?

Somebody here on BYC mentioned using one of those things placed in the middle of a pizza to keep the box lid from hitting the top of the pizza.

Maybe cut a sponge to fit the well?
