Brinsea Octagon 40 Thread

That's awesome! Thats about my shedule. I usually get one or two on day 20. It will be like popcorn by tomorrow. They look good for fresh hatchers, too. Not too wet. I think you're going to have a great hatch

Are you still running 99.5 on the display, or did you bump to 100.0? Whatever it is right now, leave it. Once I started getting one early hatcher, the rest were like clockwork on day 21

I checked the eggs this morning at 7 and there was nothing but the pips. I went and checked them again at 8:45 and two chicks had hatched. As far as the temp I have it at 99.8 and it has been there since about day 2. One thing I notice so far with this hatch is the chicks are way more dry when they come out. On my last hatch all the chicks I got were very wet. I had the humidity in the Styrofoam at an average of 40% witch is the same as I have the Brinsea set at. It is amazing the difference between the two.

That was one of the first things I noticed in my first Brinsea hatch. The chicks look so much better when they pop out, and I have not had one instance of splayed legs or crooked toes

I've never had leg or foot problems, but if I don't move my chicks to the brooder they don't truly fluff up. Of course, I have my humidity 75% at hatch....lol

I leave mine in the incubator so long that the fluffy chicks actually start sucking the moisture out of the air, no joke
