BRINSEA ovaeasy incubator - how to level trays?

I just got my new incubator and i'm trying to learn how to use all the settings before i put eggs in. I'm following the instructions to level the shelves but when the shelves stop and lock in position they are not level! They stop at about a 30 degree angle. I tried to call Brinsea but maybe they are gone until Monday? I need to set my eggs this weekend. HELP! Does anyone know if there is a way I can adjust the trays?

Hi, just saw your post...I'm not on here much. I have an ovaeasy advance and its a learning curve...lol. I start a turn and then stop it when they are ALMOST level because they don't stop immediately. The few seconds causes them to go past the level. It took me a bit to figure it out, and sometimes even if they are off a bit you can still get the trays in & out ok. I recognize Your farm name--I sell eggs and have gotten your egg cartons from customers. My DIL may have gotten her Barnies from you. I am just a bit south of Oneida.

I like the OE but wish it was easier to clean. I am short and it is really hard to reach to the back. Not sure I like the trays--mine came with the universal hatching trays w/dividers. I think I will invest in some of the egg carton looking ones--what ever they are called. I mainly raise/hatch turkeys. I let the hens do the chickens when I need replacement hens. My girls are just a backyard mix for eggs(at this point--after many years) Nice to talk to someone in my neck of the woods!

Where do you buy the egg carton trays? From Brinsea? Won't the eggs fall out of that type?

Thank you for this post. I'm having the same problem with my Ova-Easy 100. It always pauses about 25 degrees past level. Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.

I know this is an old post, but I'm going to respond in case it is helpful to someone in the future. I too was having trouble with my trays not leveling properly. When I googled for help, it brought me to this thread. All it took to correct the issue was a 2 minute conversation with Brinsea. Of that 2 minutes, at least half of it was spent with me trying to hit all three buttons at the exact same time to access the calibration menu.

The issue with the trays not leveling is a power issue. The incubator comes out of the box programmed to 50Hz for Europe. You need to change that setting to 60Hz for North America. Here is the ideal place to consult your manual, page 16-17.

You need to enter the calibration menu by pressing all three buttons at the same time. It may take you a couple tries. Heck it may take you 243 tries, but eventually you will see the screen read "CAL TEMP". Advance through the menus with the + button until you land on "HZ". At "HZ", select OK. The screen should show "60". Switch that to "50" then proceed to the "SAVE" screen and save your changes, which should take you back to the main menu.

Initiate the trays to level and see what happens. They said it may take a couple turn attempts before it was stopping perfectly level. Mine did not. It stopped level on the first attempt. Good luck!

Cloverhill thank you so much! You have no idea how much this explanation means to me. I did exactly as you said, and it was super easy.
And to think I spent all of last year annoyed and thinking it was some sort of issue with the actual mechanism, but ignoring it because I didn't have the funds to get a tech out here. I was able to squeeze the trays in, but just barely. Now it's so much more level!
Oh, P.S. I figured an easy way to press all 3 buttons at once without risking turning the shelves or opening the regular menu is press "ok" and "+" with two fingers on one hand, and then press the "-" in the middle with the other hand.

This is super old, but I'm going to ask anyway-- you mean it should show "50" and then you want to switch to 60hz for north america?
