Brittle eggshells

My chicken is 5 years old. She never had a problem with brittle egg shells. This past 2 weeks her shells are so brittle, they are hard to pick up. There is always oyster shell and grit in a dish for the chickens. She's the only one who seems to have a problem. Any suggestions to make her eat more oyster shells?

Are you feeding her a layer type feed?
Do you feed treats?

Yes I do use layer feed. I give them meal worms for treats once a day.

Try stopping giving daily treats and see if that alone helps her egg shells. She may be eating too many worms and not be getting enough of the layer feed.

Also...she may not but that is one thing you can change/are in control of to try to figure out what's causing the issue.

You may be correct. With all the rain we have been having, the girls have been finding lots of worms in the grass too.
