Most of you checked out the post I made about the, what we thought was foot pad dematitis, which the chicken doc said was urine scald-and saw the pictures of Farmer.
Well he isn't doing so good for the last few days. He has stopped using his legs. At first he would stand for a bit then fall, which was why he was brought into the house but now his legs either flop out in front of him or one is in front and the other out to the side. He tries to use his wings to scoot around.
He has a healthy appitite and drinks ALOT of water (which I read was common in broilers) but his legs are just getting worse.
Anyone have any ideas?

Amonia Burn, Which is the same as Foot Pad Dermatitis..I think you are probably lookin at a sliped tendon now,,I dont know of any effective treatment

I thought broilers are vac'ed against merek's...
And if its a slipped tendon is there any sort of treatment for that.
I feel so bad that these guys are having so many problems, and Farmer is the sweetest boy.

I hate to say it, But its probably best to cull. Meat birds are geneticly engineered for leg problems..The heavier they get, the worse the problem gets

Well if can still life a happy life, even without the use of his legs I don't mind bathing him and such. He scoots around and hangs out with us on the couch.
I just don't know if he's in pain or not and if so, what I would need to get at the vet for him.

If you go to Carmilla (my house chicken)'s MySpace you can see more pictures there....and thank you

Ok after taking a look at him last night, Farmers skin is turning the green color of moldy cheese.
What is causing this???
