Ok, my local store was out of "chick starter", but they said I could give my babies "broiler starter" instead. I understand broiler starter is for birds that you plan to eat....and it has a bit more protien, but is there any other difference? which is better for the babies? BTW I do not plan on eating any of my birds - they will be egg layers/pets.

since you don't have the other feed just get it to keep them going and then buy the regular feed and mix it half and half till both sacks are gone
other wise see if they have it sold by the lb and only buy what will keep you going
how much higher protein was the new feed than what you have been feeding them

protein just gives them a little more body building than less protein

any questions email me

So- it seems like its not such a big deal. I'll just have plumper chicks!! Thats fine with me.
My chick starter was 16%, the new one I got is 22% ( so I was told). there was no way to compare ingredients, since the bags were not marked in any way.??
Thanks
