Having been to Uganda several times and setting up some chicken production in several villages. I would suggest that you can grind your own adding in the bsf will help with the protien needs. You should also consider fermenting your feed as it allows better absorption of the feed and they will eat less of it allowing you to extend your feed. Also consider mixing some if the commercial mix with your own mix. I would try to find a dealer who will sell you at a wholesale price. It will help.
