Maybe this is my first experience with Hoover hatcheryI stand by my previous guessesYour Americanas are Easter Eggers. It's just a strange way of saying it. Hatcheries will call them that with the "i" to indicate they're not true Ameraucanas. I prefer to call them Easter Eggers to eliminate any confusion

Your last bird (#5) also looks to be a traditional Easter Egger. You can tell they are rather than true Ameraucanas by their sourcing. Hoover's doesn't carry true Ameraucanas. They only stock the mixed variety lot. One easy way to tell is if they're listed as "mixed variety" like they do on their website. They say "The Americana breed comes from the Araucana and Ameraucana mix and has different color plumage variations." The Americana isn't a breed, but simply a mix that they are deceptively marketingMaybe this is my first experience with Hoover hatchery
Oh thank you, thats good info to know. I guess I’ll have to look for hatching eggs next timeYour last bird (#5) also looks to be a traditional Easter Egger. In defense of EEs, they're typically pretty darned good producers of bluish or greenish eggs. They tend to be middle of the flock in temperament, not bullies or bullied. Their coloring and patterns are super varied, so if you like looking out at a mixed flock- they're your birds. Unless you're wanting to breed and sell purebreds, EEs deliver pretty eggs with little downside (and typically lower acquisition cost)!Oh thank you, thats good info to know.
