My first coop is great. But my roost in # 1 is funky can you guy's post some pics. I wanna have a great roost for my next flock. After all they spend alot of time there. My new coop will be 10 ' x 10' I'm gonna add 20 more hen's no roo. Customers want infertile eggs. I'll have both fertile & non fertile eggs. Also, the new coop will be three sided with a 100 foot run. I'm in Texas so its hot Not cold. Thank's 7L

I used a longer solid tree branch, that I stripped the bark off. (No bark makes for easier cleaning). The hens get a real good grip on this, and seem to balance with no problem. The branch is about 2.5-3" in diameter. Price was right..lol;)

Here's the progress thus far. The measurements are 10' X 20'.. Its gonna be three sided the door will be added to the run. Any suggestions would be considered & greatly appreciated. I'm trying to do it right the first time.

Any suggestions on the roost. I'll probably build it tomorrow. I'll be using 2X4's for constructing the roost. Against, the back window a frame or what?

I keep bumping this cause DDawn has a three sided coop in temps similar to mine. She suggested a three sided coop & I need to build a good roost.

I like the wood 2x4 idea and for a idea of how to set it up i would put it a the back of the coop and make it kinda like this _l_l_ Kinda like that so the will all be the same lvl. Thats how mine is right now and its the best idea sofar i have come up with. I would put it right at the 2x4 there on the right side. If you want i can post a pic of what mine looks like.
