Don't give up for getting more motion back. I did the same type of break to my right pinky finger and also ended up with three screws in it. Mine was from having my hand gripping a sheep by the wool and she suddenly jumped the other direction before I could get my hand untangled. I also thought it was dislocated until I saw the x-rays. Anyway, my finger still isn't completely normal (did this a year ago), but it is almost fully functional. The only thing is that it doesn't straighten all the way and is fatter than my other pinky, but I don't even notice it anymore. As far as function goes, it was probably three or four months before I felt that it was pretty much back to normal. Hope yours ends up the same!
The finger has improved R.O.M but the collateral ligament damage is taking its sweet time healing. There are challenges like strength, fatigue, swelling and pain in it but that will improve with time ((hopeful)) . Released to full duty & see the Doctor at the end of next wk for closing assessment. Glad to hear your fracture healed well.
