I have a pet rooster named Jimmy hes a Rhode Island Red, very beautiful. Hes about 2 1/2 years old and he lives outside. Occasionally he will come home with blood on his wattle and sometimes his blade amusing hes been in fights. We dont have any other chickens or roosters around us for him to fight with, he does roam our land freely. We do have cats and one Chihuahua, I can only think that he gets in fights with cats??
This morning he came up to me and I noticed that the bottom of his beak is to the left side and the top of his beak is to the right, majorly crooked and he has dried blood on the end due to blood dripping slowly out of his beak.
He still clucks and is pecking at the ground but it does look bad. I dont know what to do to help him and im worried. I dont want to take him to the vet if i dont have to, one time i had a chicken that needed to go to the vet and they said they dont help chickens so i dont know what to do.
Hes more than just a rooster hes a PET rooster.
anything helps.
thank you!
