So I went out the other day to check on my chickens and I noticed one of them was limping and when I looked closer her far right toe was pretty swollen and dirty.
I tried to clean it off as much as possible (which wasn't much) and I can't really take her to a vet.
Any suggestions/opinions/help??

Thank you!

A photo would help. Is she still eating / drinking ok? Any other changes in behaviour other than the limping? Can you see any external injury / bruising ?

The more information you can give us the better we can help.

Sorry I wrote it in a hurry! She's still eating and drinking, the only off thing is her limping.
Im trying to get pictures up, but it's not really working for me (I'll keep trying though!) it's a bit dirty/scabby(?) and pretty swollen around the base of the toe. I don't know if one of our goats stepped on it, or if it got caught on something...

And yes I know her nails are a mess, I'm working on them :/

The foot needs to be really cleaned...fill a bowl with warm water and some dawn dish soap soak the foot in it and gently wash off the dirt...get a pair of dog toenail clippers and trim the nails back a little bit at a time...with them cleaned up you may be able to see the quick....the live part of the nail...do not trim into it or it will bleed and hurt your bird...then you will be able to see what is wrong with the foot...has she been favoring it for long? It could be Bumble Foot...a foot injury and subsequent infection....I've never had a bird with it..but. they use diluted hydrogen peroxide to cleanse the wounded and follow up with some kind of antibiotic treatment...once she's cleaned up and trimmed and treated. If possible clear out the old dirty bedding in the coop and replace it with a thick layer of pine shavings....this will cushion the impact of the birds when they jump down from the perches...and provide a clean surface for you girl to walk on while her foot heals...if she has a swollen area on the bottom of the foot it might have to be drained....but cleaning up the foot and treating it along with toe nail trimming might be all she needs...the foot looks a bit atrophied...or it might be the angle in the pic.

Can't see her back toe...is it missing...looks like it in the photo...it also looks like there's an open area at the base of the outside toe...caught on or under something...are they crowded in with the goats? Muddy? Not much hard dry ground to scratch and dig in to wear the nails down....was she kept in a cage for a while before you got her? I had a broody Cochin who's nails got long like that when she insisted on setting in the nest box for weeks...no matter how many times she was put outside...so I know they grow fast!
