cuckleberry
Songster
Hello again!
If anyone remembers, we were new to hatching button quail, and with our first clutch we only hatched one. (Who is now double in size and very curious!)
Our second clutch is currently on day 12 and we've had much more success with keeping a constant humidity. It does fluctuate though.
I just checked on the eggs as the humidity was higher than normal and let some out off the incubator. In doing so, I noticed a foul smell coming from inside. After flashing, there was an egg cracked! It looked like it had already boiled. I only noticed the smell today from opening the bator, but its possible it had been there longer.
Will this affect our hatch? We're supposed to go into lockdown tomorrow. No other eggs have visible cracks on them.
