    Hi again,

I went down to the birds this morning and seen that there was 6 eggs in some of the nesting boxes, I had to a bunch of chores first I went and did them and came back 15 minutes later, when I was gathering the eggs I seen one in a nest box that was broken, I quickly took it out and and the straw and wiped it down, then got a bar of soap and wiped down the inside of the box, then I got a cloth and wiped the whole inside of the box with straw and then cleaned it all out, then put new straw in. should I be worried that I got a egg eater.

I wouldn't worry yet-- it could just be that it got trampled on...

    Are your eggshells weak?

If they're not very hard, make sure your hens have access to oystershell free-choice (even if you're feeding them layer feed).

If you're worried about potential egg eaters, add a golfball to your nest box. A couple pecks on a golfball and they get their little brains rattled and decide not to do it anymore!
