broken eggs

i am so very sad because on sunday i knocked the incubator on the floor and all the eggs fell out and smashed. I had 6 eggs in for 7 days and was looking forward to candeling them to see if they were fertile that evening, well 4 of the eggs had babies in there and it broke my heart that i killed them by being clumsy. Getting more eggs on sunday but will never forget my first attempt that ended so badly .

Sorry that this happened, but rest assured that it has happened to most who incubate.

I'm so sorry, that's really sad. You're not alone, we've all done something like that. Last week I collected 2 of the 6 fertile eggs from under my broody after 6 days, thinking they were volunteers, and put them in the fridge. By the time I realised, it had been 1 or 2 days, I cracked one of them open and there was a beautiful, perfect little embryo. I felt sick all day. The other one, I decided to put back under the hen, we're currently at Day 13, so I'm yet to find out if by some miracle it has survived and will hatch!

well today I bought 4 more eggs, that's all the place where I get them from had, think the hens are starting to moult. the eggs are so tiny, much smaller than the last ones I had a couple weeks back, will they have anything in them being that tiny
