Broken leg - How long to leave splint on?

One of my hens, 20 weeks old, broke her leg about a week ago. I splinted it with popsicle sticks and she is doing well. How long should I leave the splint on?

It should stay on same amt of time as a person would keep a cast on. 6 weeks. I had 2 broken bone chickens: the one that left its cast on the entire time was good as new, but the one that worked her way out if it 10 days early never would use her leg after that.

About 2 weeks or until it she can walk around on it well.

Thanks for the responses. She never did stop walking on it though. We actually had a hard time catching her. A friend who broke her wrist only has to wear a cast for 3 weeks, but hers was not displaced--my hen's is. And I wasn't able to set it (straighten it), so it's going to have to heal with a bump. I'm assuming that will take longer.
