Broken Leg?

She's been pretty inactive lately, and prefers to sit down too. I'm hoping in a few weeks it'll heal by itself or with the help of a splint..

What came of this? My orpington hen is doing the same. Although eating, laying even roosted last night, she prefers to be grounded.

I see no injury to the leg, hip or thigh. She refuses to bear weight on one leg if she stands, she pulls the "injured" leg up.

I have her in a run by herself at the moment, protected from predators as she's unable to get about easily.

I don't recall the chicken pulling up the injured leg, it was if it was some iron clad that it couldn't really move or control (kind of like just using it so support its side of the body). The movement was very stiff and it only occurred randomly one afternoon. The strangest thing is, she's all better now after 3-4 days resting. We're unsure what it was but she's all better now, hopefully yours gets better soon.
