Broken leg

I would put a splint on it so it can heal and the chick can also walk around and eat/ drink and once a day put it in a sling to take the pressure of it

Can you describe how the chick stands, and what it is doing? There could be a number of things wrong with the leg. Splinting can do harm if not done properly or for the right problem. Please give more info, and perhaps a picture of how it stands even if you have to hold it. Videos posted to youtube with a link here are very helpful.
