Broken leg?

I feel absolutely Terrible, my chicken got a rock thrown at her by my nephew and son. Don’t give me grief, I could
Cry I feel so terrible.

She’s limping and hopping. One of my roosters is kinda going after her, he tried mounting her. Then I found him standing on top of her, she was laying down and he was standing straight up, standing on her. That’s when I put her in a secluded area in the coop. I blocked her in with wire mesh. Hoping that being with the rest of the flock would do her good and keep it neutral when she goes back in.

Fast forward a day, she seemed so
Depressed , not eating or drinking much. Really one eating the egg treat and cucumbers I have her and even that she only picked at. So I let her out
Tonight and she seemed so happy , eating ,drinking, laying with the other
Hens, preening with them. Happy hen. Then comes Mr. Mounty. And he’s stalking her. Only her. Do I leave her out? What should I do with the broken leg? Helppppppp

It looks like her leg is broken. Do you know how long ago that may have occurred? I would try to get an xray. The leg could be splinted if this just happened. If it happened days ago, it may heal crooked. She needs to be separated inna wire dog crate with food and water to force her to rest her leg. Splinting should include padding, then something stiff like an aluminum padded finger splint, or popsicle sticks, and vet wrap not to tightly wrapped. Poor hen, good luck with her. I saw a video a bit ago of someone who attached plastic spikes to a hen saddle for a hen that was being injured by a rooster. Apparently soon the rooster learned to stay away from her. Would this work so she could heal??

Thanks for the reply, it happend Tuesday. I don’t have the means to take her to the vet unfortunately.

this is what I have her in. A blocked off area under the poop shelf. I’m telling you she just seemed so sad, at one point she was facing the back wall, with her face in the corner. If you think it will do more good than harm, to keep her confined I will obviously do it. I didn’t want to stress her out too much. This is my first flock of chickens . How long do I keep her confined? Until she is using the leg?

You could just try it out to see how it goes. I know my birds like company when isolated. Also, could you pen her where she can see her flock? Or would that make it worse...
