Hi! Newbie here, my Orpington-Maran cross pullett has been laying eggs with small holes in the shell. The holes are round, and the shell is laying on the membrane of the egg. I am offering them oystershell besides the layer ration. The shells also seem very thin.
I thought maybe she was dropping them from the roost, but yesterday she gave me one in the nest box. Are these eggs safe to eat? Could this be caused by one egg pushing the other in the process?
