A few days ago I was putting the 1 gallon waterer in the brooder and one of my 4 1/2 week old chicks ran under it. She got her toe stuck and I didn't realize until she was screaming that it was there. I took it out and didn't really see anything wrong. Now, it is several days later and I noticed that the rt outside toe is bent to the side and almost flipped upside down. I took a large bandaid and wrapped it to straighten it out. Did I do the right thing? It really looked bad the color is good but it was just flopping when she walked.

    Thank you for your help

I've been fortunate and haven't dealt with a broken chicken toe, but I would have done the same thing as you did.

Let us know how the toe is doing, okay!
