I broke my duck waterer trying to break ice up (I kicked the side and a piece of plastic snapped off 😬). Does anyone know of a way to fix it? It's a heated waterer and cost more than I'm willing to spend again to replace it.

Do you think e6000 would be safe to use?
[EDIT - DISREGARD THE BELOW - SEE NEXT POST]

Yes. ASSUMING:

You don't use much.
You do so in a well ventilated room.
You allow it to fully cure.
You only keep water in your waterer. (not acidified water, water adulterated with "poultry booster", etc)
and that the pieces, when affixed together, make a clean, tight seal, such that the majority of this stuff isn't exposed to anything at all.

e6000 contains percholoroethylene. Its NOT great stuff. Most harmful inhaled. Once fully cured, its pretty stable, and the amount you will be using shoud be miniscule - so potential dosage is extremely small, and over a long time scale. best applied around 65*F.

I deem it a managable risk, based on what they do disclose.

That said, the instructions for the stuff say NOT to use it on anything that comes in contact with food or drinking water.

ALERT!

I rescind the above.

Several sources suggest e6000 contains styrene 1,3-butadiene .

That is NOT good stuff. Yes, the potential dosage is still absolutely miniscule, and iy its a clean break you are fixing, the potential for much of it to be exposed to potentially leach into water is extremely low. But I still wouldn't use it.

Superglue would be safer.

Going to edit the above.
