Broken wing? Help! RIP clover:(

How is she doing?

I don’t think she slept the whole night. She is now in the coop that her and her sister were in and she is sleeping. Her wing still is sagging. I will get some pictures now. If it is broken what do I do?

If it is indeed broken, vet care is best, but sometimes that's just not an option.

You would want to examine closely to make sure no bones are poking out of the skin. The wing bones are fine and small, so take your time looking her over, looking for any broken skin. You may see a bit of a greenish color, this is bruising, take note of those areas.

While you are looking her over, see if there's any other injuries that may have been missed and hidden under the feathers.

I’m not sure A vet is an option but we have an exotic vet just down the road from us.

Do you think I should wake her up to take pictures? This is the first time I’ve seen her sleep in a long time.

She has both wings tucked in. As soon as she flaps any of her wings though the bad one will fall down and then she can’t seem to get it up.

She can flap the injured wing?

I'm hoping it's just sprained and bruised since she's able to keep it tucked up with assistance.

Hard to know what to do. I've had hens injure their wings and I left them and just monitored them for a few days. As soreness wore off and they healed, they were able to keep their wing in place just fine and healed well enough to fly.

The worry would be if there's any broken bones that have punctured the skin. You do want to look to make sure there's no broken skin that needs to be treated so it doesn't get infected.

Update. She can move her wing when she stretches and can flap it but it still hangs down quite a lot. I have sort of examined her wing but I’m going to do a more thorough job today. What should I do?
