I was candeling my 26 eggs and noticed 4 of them were "runny" inside. I cracked them open and sure enough the yolk spilled out in a watery mess and they were not fertile (luckily I did. This in a plastic bag) but one of them actually had a live baby inside I could see its little heart beating away and I feel so guilty... Could the chick have survived with a broken yolk or would it have died before it was supposed to hatch? (It was put in on 6-6). I didn't break the yolk it was already broken when I candled it, which is why I cracked it open. What could cause this? Is it something I could have prevented?

Honestly all the eggs that i've candled and saw a live embryo with a broken yolk ended up dying early on. I dunno why but the runny yolk embryos never develop for me. Maybe thats just me though. It would probably be harder for the chick to absorb once it grows but i dunno if that would be the reason for its early death. Hopefully someone else knows more.
