Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
You guys were right! The 55 gallon rubbermaid tub didn't last long, one week exactly. I purchased a x-large dog metal crate and used the bottom of that along with the cardboard box, added duct tape and wahlah! They were freaked out for a minute but now all is well with their lilttle planet and tons more room!
