Try www.gbwf.org.Each state has their own requirements on ringnecks, here in N.H ornamentals are not required to be permitted,so the sq ft. does not apply.I raise my breeders in 6x12,some in pairs and some in trios. The hens must be happy,I had 6 hens et on their own eggs and got 100% hatch from them.I don't want to talk about my incubator.
In N.H.,Tony.

I have spent hours and hours on gbwf and go there to find appropriate sq. ft. for adults and other species info, but where do I find space recomendations for day old to month old chicks and month old to grown size birds? examples amherst & golden pheasant, coturnix quail, chukar, bobwhite, wood ducks and mandrians....

As a matter of fact I spent a little time in the gbwf fourm and think I recognize your screen name from there, lol

It's very simple- the more room the better. If they appear crowded........ then........... they are! There is NO magical number that each bird requires (x) number of square feet. Many factors determine how much room they need.

Example- I can put 6 young ringnecks in a brood pen (our's are 4 x 8) that were hatched in an incubator, then started in a brooder tub. Those ringnecks will usually start picking on each others feathers before being moved to a larger pen. BUT I can put a broody chicken with 6 to 8 young ringnecks that she hatched and has raised in the same size brood pen and they do not pick on feathers.

I sent you a couple of messages. Check your inbox if you can. I raise pheasant and when they are little they need no more space than a chicken. But as soon as they start growing they will start trampling and picking on each other if they are crowded. I use big (like 40 gallon rubber maid bins with screen tops for them. Up to about a month old or so I can get 20 or so in there.
