I’m new to BYC but the rule I have mostly used is about 1/4 Square Foot for the first four weeks. So for you about 25’ feet.

Brilliant, thank you so much

Is there a rule of thumb regarding water and feed stations?
Most articles i read are US based and not available in SA.
I feel like a nervous father getting the "nursery" ready.

Honestly don’t know with 100 I’ve only done smaller patches that require one feeder. I would think two long troughs for food but someone who does more at a time maybe better to answer that.

For 100 chicks I'd break them up into smaller groups to avoid trampling, crushing, and to make it easier for them to access feed, water and heat. 3 or 4 groups, perhaps, and probably 2 feeders, 2 waterers in each set up (with some space in between to keep everyone from clustering in one spot).
