Brooder feeder 3 week old chicks

Hello!

I have a cheap feeder in the brooder, the kind where you screw in a mason jar.

They waste so much food! Is there an intermediate feeder where they won’t waste so much? Or do I just suck it up 2-3 more weeks until they can be outside more? Gotta get the run finished!

My babies are extremely messy but it did help if you raised the food dish so it isn’t below chest level. As long as it is above chest level it is harder for them to play in the food.

Tractor supply has one like this and one about half the length. Some mess is still made by older chicks but it works well.

I have one similar to this, and have it sitting on a piece of 2x4 left over from coop building. It seems to be a good height for my almost-three-week-olds; they don't seem to spill or waste much of it.
