They didn't seem to like it at the recommended 95, but were comfortable at 90.
We're doing it now. Seems like exposure to the cooler temperatures is feathering them out sooner! We have some at 5 weeks and some at about a week. Almost 2. We are using the mama heat plate, and they run in and out as needed. No need to worry about a fire or too much or little heat. They go in when cold, and out when warm. The little ones are mixing a bit with the bigger ones, under supervision. So far, everything's good.I had chickens about 2 years ago and started them in a brooder in the house. What a mess..I won't be doing that again. I want to put a brooder in the chicken coop with a heat lamp. Has anyone ever done this successfully?
