Hi! We brought home 3 chicks and two ducklings about 2 weeks ago. We’ve been keeping the brooder in our house, but I’m wondering if they’ll be ok in our garage. Low night temps are hovering around 65°, and I have a heat lamp on them with enough space for them to get away from the heat.
We do also have a 5 day old chick in her own cage within the brooder until she’s big enough to defend herself against the bigger girls. Should I bring them inside overnight or is it fine?

Here’s the set up.

Not sure what's with the metal tray and bird cage but as long as your garage is dry and draft free that should be fine.
Oh the bird cage is housing the new chick because the duckling can be a little too aggressive. The tray will be removed- it was extra water for the ducks since they tend to drain the other water.

Garage could be ok depending, it might get too hot during the daytime. My garage was to hot I had to move them to my basement. Garage temperature fluctuated to much.

Ah, I missed that there were ducks. Typical suggestions are you don't brood or house the two together... They have different needs. But I guess you know that now. ;)
Haha yes, lesson learned 😂 ducks are so MESSY. They’re doing ok together and have different food, plus with the extra space in the garage the water isn’t a real issue now.
