brooder lamp question

Hi, after hunting around for a lamp i have now found one and have been told that a 100w bulb will be about right for my needs. Now the question i have is do i buy the red bulb or the white bulb?

I like a red buld. Helps with pecking. I don't buy the real high dollor ones. I actually use a 60watt painted with hi temp paint. Its usually pretty warm here you may need more higher watt if its cold were you are from.

I used a red bulb too and had no problems with pecking at all............I also think it is more calming than a bright white light........especially at night.

Or, go with a reptle black heatlamp, i have seen them in 60W and 250W size at walmart.
