Brooder Questions....

I have used a large clear tote many times.large hole cut out of top ,just smaller than heat lamp.Heat lamp must be secured.several ventilation drilled on opposite side ,lower half of wall one extra hole near light for air flow .Ill try to add pictures

Chicks grow really fast. Best to invest in something that they can stay in until they are about 6 weeks old as you will want to move them into their coop by then. I would suggest 1 sq foot of empty space for each chicken. I have a 4X4 brooder for my 2 week old chickens. There are 16 of them.

I've got a tote that I use for 6 or so, it's almost as long as the trough's that Tractor Supply has their chicks in, mine don't go out till they are fully feathered, are you traveling with them or just setting up your brooder? I picked up the tote at Home Depot and hubby cut a hole out of the center of the lid for light and air, I keep the lid off till they don't need heat anymore..
