Brooder set up- curious cat

Hello!
Here is our set up!
Our house cat is SO interested, but maybe scaring the little babies. I added the foam flooring pad around the outside of the brooder so they could get a break from him staring

Our house is a nice social boy. He was raised along side a guinea pig at kitten hood and told to leave it alone. Which he did.

I’m hoping the foam will be okay and not block much air flow. So far they have been under the plate and did a little exploration. Let me know if you see anything wrong!

Thanks. I’m a nervous momma hen He got very excited and scent marked the entire brooder when they arrived. One loud chirpper(we named her Hollandaise) went off on him when he was giving a stare down.

We have a Border Bully that is 2 and thinks all the birds are hers. She tries to play with them but sometimes gets too excited. We've had to curb her chicken the because of it. She hasn't hurt any but she does love to startle them so they will flutter around a bit.

Interesting mix! Our beagle and doodle will probably be doing the same thing. Or my kids!

My sister's cat went for 6 week old chicks, then went of one of the survivors at 16 weeks. Keep an eye in the cat.

Our cat who is partly feral, has no interest in our birds. Even the ones outside. He acts terrified of them.

This was a semi-feral cat that hadn't shown interest before.
